Good Hard Times
So here’s a bit of irony.
It’s not frantic as much
As it once used to be.
It seems that I have lots of time
To pursue many things,
If they don’t cost a dime.
I practice putting on the rug.
I can paint; I can write,
Give my puppy a hug.
“It’s great,” I’d say, “to be retired.”
But I’m not sixty-two
And, alas, I was fired.
Well, technically, I was laid off.
The result is the same:
Pro at Living Room Golf.
